Alpha for Students

Alpha for Students is a welcoming space to talk about life, faith, and God. It’s a chance to explore big questions—like why bad things happen, what life is all about, and what happens after we die—in a no-pressure, judgment-free zone. You don’t need to have all the answers, and no question is off-limits. Whether you’re totally new to faith or just curious, Alpha is a place to be real, ask anything, and see that you're not alone.

Alpha meets in small groups in a comfortable environment. Each of the seven Alpha sessions is an opportunity to explore important aspects of faith and life. Sessions begin with a short talk exploring questions like “Is there more to life than this?” and “Who is Jesus?” Then, groups have an opportunity to discuss those questions without fear of being corrected or judged. Whether you’re seeking answers or just starting to ask questions, Alpha is a safe space to explore some of life’s biggest questions

How much does it cost to join Alpha?

Alpha is completely free. There are no costs associated with attending the sessions. It’s our commitment to provide a welcoming and accessible environment for all participants.

What happens at an Alpha session?

Each Alpha session typically includes a meal or refreshments, a short talk about a key aspect of the Christian faith, and a discussion time where you can share your thoughts and questions in a small group setting.

How long does each session last?

Sessions usually last about 90 minutes, but this can vary slightly depending on the group and the discussion.

Do I need to be a Christian to join Alpha?

Not at all. Alpha is designed for individuals of all faiths or no faith. It’s a place for people from all walks of life to explore and discuss life’s big questions.

Can I join Alpha at any time?

It’s best to join Alpha at the start of the course to experience the full journey. However, you’re welcome to join at any point.

What if I miss a session?

If you miss a session, don’t worry. You can catch up with the group leader or join the next session. The important thing is your participation and comfort.

Is there any follow-up after the course ends?

After Alpha, there are often opportunities to continue exploring faith, either through additional courses, joining a community group, or other events and activities.
